The classic preschool series Barney & Friend returned to cable tv in December 2018 on Universal Kids. With a series that's been around as long as Barney, we wanted to make him still feel fresh and current, without abandoning why preschoolers fell in love with him in the first place. We also wanted to grab the attention of parents who grew up with Barney, including those turned off by him, and get them on board with the purple dinosaur.
For kids, we focused on the music, magic, and unconditional love Barney shares. For parents, we poked fun at Barney with a faux movie trailer to help bring together Barney lovers and haters alike. 
In its first two weeks, Barney & Friends outperformed the network average by +50% for preschoolers. To date, the series has the network's highest GRP% among K2-5 and ranks #2 in W18-49 on Universal Kids.
